A New World Record! Tom Hoel Dominates the Plank

A danish fitness instructor just beat the world record for a plank hold by 2 minutes. Most people can’t even hold a plank for two minutes to begin with.

Tom Hoel held the plank for an amazing time of 4 hours and 28 minutes. The amount of endurance and will power this man has is unbelievable.

In 2014 he set the record at 3 hours and 8 minutes. To add more than an hour to his time is quite the accomplishment. His record was beat, which gave him even more reason to raise the bar. Not only does it take an extremely fit body to do this, the biggest part is your mind. Pushing through your pain threshold and not giving up. Here is what he had to say about the amazing achievement.

“I had never pushed myself that far. I had a serious crisis for almost two hours. After mentally arguing with myself, I finally asked for the time at three hours and 41 minutes.

“I thought I was still under three hours and was ready to quit.

“But when I realized that I had beat my former record and the goal was withing sight, I mobilized every resource in my mind and body.”

We do not have a video of this but is documented as a world record. Below is a video of Tom showing how to perform a proper plank.
